Venture Computer, the sole distributor in Southern Africa for Lexmark International, today introduced the Lexmark Z52 Color Jetprinter, the world`s first inkjet printer to deliver 2400 x 1200 dots per inch (dpi) resolution in both black and colour on all paper types. In addition to delivering the industry`s highest resolution, this value-packed, high-performance business-class inkjet printer has a wide range of features providing the ultimate in ease of use, while meeting the rigorous needs of small businesses and demanding home users.
The Z52 offers built-in parallel cable and USB compatibility to satisfy the requirements of traditional PC users as well as those embracing the modern Input/Output (I/O) of the Macintosh platform, including students, graphic designers, business professionals and home users.

Lexmark has built a reputation of innovation by being first to market with 1200 x 1200 dpi inkjet resolution, introducing a stand-alone digital camera photo printer and beating all competitors into the bottom end of the inkjet market. With 2400 x 1200 dpi resolution in both black and colour, Lexmark is once again a pioneer in the marketplace, enabling crisp output and images that are sharper and more vivid.
Not only can the Z52, with its 15 ppm performance, compete with laser printers in terms of speed and text quality; it also offers superior colour results when printing transparencies. Small business users will especially appreciate the long life span of the Z52, which boasts the highest duty cycle of any Lexmark inkjet printer. Job finishing functions, such as the ability to print multiple copies of booklets and manual duplexing are also attractive features. In addition, the Z52 offers business-class paper handling, including heavy-stock stationery and transparencies.
A separate photo cartridge is not needed for quality photo printing because of the Z52`s 2400 x 1200 dpi resolution and the small seven picoliter drop size, which together produce sharp photo images on plain paper and effective smoothing and blending of colours. However, the Z52 will support the use of an optional photo cartridge for six-colour printing if desired.
