Venture Computer, the sole distributor for Lexmark International in Southern Africa, today announced the Lexmark Z51 Color Jetprinter, a fully featured printer, developed to combine both photo quality and high performance printing. The Lexmark Z51 incorporates the best of Lexmark`s inkjet technology, and features a print resolution of 1200x1200 dots per inch (dpi), enhanced by new 7 picoliter microscopic ink drops. With a throughput performance of up to 10 pages per minute (ppm) for black text, it utilises Lexmark`s worry-free Accu-Feed paperfeed device and USB connection port. This combination of printer design and technology allows users to achieve the best possible output and the highest ease-of-use standards in the industry today.

Top print quality is a key feature consumers are looking for when purchasing an inkjet printer. The Z51 Color Jetprinter incorporates Lexmark`s new, breakthrough print technology to achieve very impressive Photo Quality output. It produces 90 percent higher print definition for sharper, laser-quality text and more vivid colours, which are ideal for photo-realistic prints. This higher print definition is achieved because the new print head releases smaller drop sizes (7 picoliters), allowing more drops to form the image or text without saturating the paper. Lexmark`s new inkjet also reduces the gap between print head and paper for maximum accuracy of drop placement and smoother transition between colours. The combination of the industry`s highest resolution, small drop size, and accurate drop placement make the Lexmark Z51 Color Jetprinter and its resulting output far superior to other inkjets on the market.
The Lexmark Z51 has also been designed as a performance printer, incorporating features that will please both business and home users. Increased print speed, a USB port, improved printer driver software and new document enhancing functions are just some of the new features which enables that performance. A 25% improvement in print speed has been achieved over the Lexmark 5700, resulting in up to 10 ppm in black text and 5 ppm in colour. Also, continuing the tradition of its predecessor, Lexmark`s superior Accu-Feed paper handling device ensures that users of the Z51 can print easily on an extremely wide variety of media without risk of paper jams. The USB port, developed for Windows 98, ensures faster print speed with minimal conflict with other user`s peripherals. The document enhancement functions allow for more user creativity - printing booklets, handouts and even posters.
The Lexmark Z51 is shipped with Corel PrintHouse Magic software package. Easy to use and powered by the award winning CorelDraw technology, the software enables the production of documents ranging from business flyers to home greeting cards. Thanks to the integration of Corel Photo House into PrintHouse Magic, the user can also enhance images before integrating them in these documents.
