iTrace, a division of MyGate, was recently launched, giving South African businesses the ability to perform searches on a wide base of information that has traditionally been difficult and costly to access.
MyGate has integrated into a host of government and institutional databases, giving companies the ability to have one point of entry to perform these searches through its Web console. These searches aid in reducing risk exposure and form part and parcel of MyGate's payment processing products and services.
iTrace offers significantly more functionality that its predecessor Credit Aware, with Experian (consumer reports), XDS (ID and consumer trace), SAQA (qualification check) and SAPS (criminal check) reporting now being available, coupled with the Transunion (business and consumer reports) reporting, which was available in the original Credit Aware solution.
The majority of the searches deliver real-time response while certain searches can only be delivered within 48 hours. Search types include qualification verification, consumer enquires, business enquiries, drivers licence and vehicle data verification, deeds search and criminal checks.
Darrel Rossouw, Regional Sales Manager for Gauteng, highlighted the SAQA and SAPS integration as significant improvements to the product offering. Darrel was quoted as saying: “With the change in legislation regarding criminal checks, MyGate has positioned ourselves as being one of the first providers able to supply the fingerprint readers now required to initiate these queries. This ability, combined with our Qualification Check, has quickly established us as an attractive option to Recruitment companies.”
Although MyGate's product portfolio primarily boasts payment solutions in the EFT space, iTrace is able to form part of a risk management process required in validating, vetting and accepting new business before payment is even required. Having this integrated into the payment solution makes a lot of sense to companies.
Other major positives are that MyGate has maintained the no subscription, prepaid model, thus reducing unnecessary costs in using the iTrace solution, as well as the ability to provide an API, allowing easy integration into the recruitment companies' software application.
