Veritas Software Corporation increased its net income to $86 million for the quarter to end-June, compared with $46 million for the same quarter last year.
This translated to net income of $0.20 per diluted share, compared with $0.11 a year before.
Revenue for the period rose from $408 million to $485 million.
"While total revenue was up 19% year-over-year, the June quarter was challenging in our US enterprise business, particularly for licence transactions at the end of the quarter," says Gary Bloom, Veritas chairman, president and CEO.
"Licence revenue was up 7% and service revenue was up 38% year-over-year. Our channel and international businesses performed well this quarter, with our EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and Asia Pacific regions growing 44% and 34% respectively, year-over-year."
