VERITAS Software Corporation has announced that VERITAS NetBackup now supports Quantum`s DLT8000 tape system.
The DLT 8000 is Quantum`s latest advance on the industry-standard DLTtape technology roadmap, giving users a viable migration path for data protection. Overall, DLTtape systems have an installed base of more than one million drives and 30 million cartridges, making access to previously stored data particularly critical for IT managers.
VERITAS Software continues to leverage new tape technologies, such as DLT8000, to ensure customers have adequate choices in deploying VERITAS Software solutions for data protection. By supporting DLT8000, VERITAS Software reinforces its support for open-systems backup and recovery software solutions for heterogeneous environments.
