VERITAS Software teams with HP to deliver integrated Zero-Downtime Backup and Recovery solution

VERITAS Software has announced an agreement with Hewlett-Packard Company to deliver an integrated solution providing Zero-Downtime Backup support for heterogeneous environments.

The Zero-Downtime Backup solution combines VERITAS NetBackup, VERITAS Software`s data protection solution, with local mirroring software and HP SureStore E Business Copy XP on the HP SureStore E Disk Array XP256 to provide automated, non-disruptive point-in-time backup for business-critical applications and databases, such as Microsoft Exchange and Oracle. The solution ensures that application processing continues uninterrupted and without performance degradation while backup is underway.

VERITAS NetBackup, the only third-party backup product selected by HP to be integrated into the solution, and the HP SureStore E Disk Array XP256, along with consulting services and support, will provide customers with complete system operability and the high levels of system performance. As is standard for VERITAS NetBackup, the Zero-Downtime Backup and Recovery solution will deliver scalable, complete disaster recovery support for business without interruption across HP-UX, Sun Solaris and Windows NT environments.
