Verizon opens "Evolution" store
Verizon Wireless has opened a new store featuring its "Evolution" concept in Daytona Beach, states Bizjournals.
The 4 500-square-foot store features Verizon's new high-tech and hands-on experience with wireless voice, data, music and video services.
The new concept, includes more than 75 working models of handsets, air cards and other devices; oversized high-definition plasma screens showcasing the latest wireless multimedia applications; and a greeter kiosk where customers can check in electronically, browse the store and then visit with a representative who already has their account background and reason for visit keyed up on a computer, according to a news release.
RFID tracks pallets and products
German packaging manufacturer Heuchemer Verpackung has implemented, UK-developed radio frequency identification (RFID) based plastic pallet tracking system to increase visibility of pallets and products, says Computer Weekly.
The Smartflow system, which Liverpool-headquartered SLR Technology Solutions is to launch at the CeBit digital trade fair, uses RFID technology and management software to track reusable plastic pallets through the supply chain.
Christoph Heuchemer, MD of Heuchemer Verpackungen said, "We are the first company in our industry to use a combination of plastic pallets and tracking system."
UTC Retail releases upgraded workstation
