Verizon powers Thing5 offering

Thing5, a provider of messaging-based software services to the hospitality industry, is using Verizon VOIP and hosting services to offer voice and messaging services for hotel employees and guests, says TMCnet.

Under an agreement with Verizon Business, Thing5 is providing its hosted platform through a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model to approximately 1 300 hotels, covering more than 275 000 phones.

With the help of a SaaS model, applications such as voicemail, automatic call distribution, audio conferencing, faxing and instant messaging are hosted by a vendor rather than the customer.

Almasa has finally found a boss to run its networking division after the departure of DK Roy earlier this year, by appointing Pradeep Angeveetil to the post, states ITP.net.

Compact XBee sensors allow customers to collect real-time data from multiple nodes across a ZigBee network and are ideal for applications in building automation, security, energy management, food management, and freight/vehicle monitoring.
