Never one to be caught napping, Tarsus Technologies has announced the availability of Acer`s Centrino-based Tablet PC, the TravelMate C110. This system provides users with the ability to remain in touch and productive no matter where they are or what their job description is.
"The company has gone further than merely releasing a connected Tablet PC," says Traci Maynard, Acer product manager at Tarsus. "Users are now able to work on either a Tablet PC or traditional laptop by simply folding the display around, attaching a full-size keyboard, monitor and mouse if necessary. Nothing could be simpler or more versatile."
With Intel`s latest Centrino technology, the C110 sports integrated 802.11b or 802.11a/b WLAN as well as Bluetooth functionality. For users on the move in areas with different connectivity options, the system can seamlessly switch between WLAN and Bluetooth modes as needed, without user intervention.
The ultra-low-voltage Intel Pentium-M processor is supported by the Intel 855GM chipset with 400MHz front-side bus to ensure users have the processing power they need to manage their workload while taking advantage of the C110s lower power consumption and longer battery life.
"With up to 2GB of DDR memory, a 60GB hard drive and the option of a port replicator, this is the solution for office, home and mobile use," Maynard continues. "At 2.5cm thick and weighing in at only 1.45kg, the C110 is a truly mobile system users won`t even notice when carrying this around with them."
The convenient stylus allows users to make quick notes, highlight certain areas of interest during a presentation or simply complete a journal in their own handwriting - a perfect input mechanism when standing or walking around where a keyboard would be nothing more than a nuisance.
The C110 uses Microsoft`s handwriting recognition technology in certain applications to convert writing to text. Moreover, full voice recognition is built in allowing users to issue voice commands to the Tablet PC.
The TravelMate C110 is a complete mobile computing solution in a small, light package that hides the system`s powerful processing capabilities. It is available from Tarsus now.
