Video conferencing - 1, fuel shortage - 0

One of the first casualties of the current fuel shortage seems to be business meetings where a quick trip from one office to another has now become a game of 'fuel-station Russian roulette' - which most people are not prepared to play (as we all want to go home later).

For so many people right now, business meetings end up being cancelled or postponed. But what if there was a way you could virtually 'meet' with your client or colleague without having to leave your office? Wouldn't it be great to be able meet with that person without having to travel to their office? How about video conferencing with that person?

If you already have a video conferencing system at your disposal, you may have already booked the system for a video meeting already, but for those of you who don't have a system (or those who have a system but clients who do not), all is not lost.

Bridge Conferencing Solutions offers a wide variety of video communication solutions, including an “Instant Meeting” solution from your PC or Mac that can connect you to other PCs as well as boardroom video conferencing systems.

This desktop solution is easy (and free) to install and all you are billed for is your connection time with other parties. All you require is a PC or a Mac with a Webcam and speakers and a reasonably good Internet connection.

You are then able to connect to other people using the same software over the Web, with calls being encrypted as well as automatic firewall traversal. This means that no modification to the company firewall is required. While other well-known desktop chat programmes may also offer multiparty video, these are often restricted to four desktop parties and are not compatible with boardroom video conferencing systems.

Bridge Conferencing Solutions' offering can connect up to 28 parties on-screen with desktop presentation capabilities, conference recording and scalable video coding (which allows for better video quality over Internet connections).
