Video takes off

As video takes off in the enterprise, IT leaders need to plan how they'll handle content management and bandwidth demands, states Network World.

Gartner forecasts that by 2013, more than 25% of the content that workers see in a day will be dominated by pictures, video or audio.

The proliferation of video within the enterprise will call for changes in content authoring training and procedures, information management strategy and improvements in analytic technologies.

PerkinElmer, IDBS to collaborate

PerkinElmer, a health and safety solutions provider, is to collaborate with IDBS, a provider of integrated life sciences management solutions, on improving analysis and the interpretation of high content screening (HCS), reports Business Wire.

HCS is an enabling technology in the search for key cellular markers associated with human health and disease. The deal allows the integration of PerkinElmer's Columbus image data management system for HCS with IDBS's ActivityBase XE screening data management software.

The collaboration will provide researchers with a unified interface to access data from both Columbus and ActivityBase XE, enabling exploratory outcomes in HCS and cellular analysis.
