China bags virtualisation contract
System Integrator, an alliance of Beijing PowerUnique Technologies (BPUT), a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Intelligence Information Systems, has signed a virtualisation agreement with the Zhongshan National Taxation Bureau (ZNTB) in Guangdong Province, states CBR Online.
Under the agreement, SI will unveil ZNTBs integrated data centre virtualisation offering while BPUT will assist the SI to provide the ZNTB with higher security and confidential virtualisation offerings for its data centre, which will help it maintain its business continuity.
China Intelligence Information Systems president and CEO Kunwu Li says this is their first project in the taxation industry acquired outside Shandong province.
Mitel expand
Mitel, a provider of unified communications software solutions, revealed an expansion of the number of accredited Mitel partners offering implementation and support for virtualised unified communications solutions, with local support available across major Asia Pacific markets, says ITWire.
Mitel has partnered with VMware to provide businesses and government agencies with the ability to host Mitel voice and unified communications applications on VMware vSphere 4.
The open Mitel Freedom architecture aims to enable the virtualisation solution to allow organisations to “break free from the 'walled garden'” vendor model and design a communications network based on best-in-class technologies aimed at reducing the complexity of ongoing support and administration.
