VM6 SME solution released

VM6 has released VM6 VMex 2.1, writes eChannelLine.

The solution combines virtualisation with shared storage, advanced clustering and intuitive management and monitoring, to deliver a virtualisation solution aimed at the SME space that is considerably cheaper than traditional virtualisation offerings.

VM6 actually started out as a Montreal-based systems integrator, which had a focus in offering services around virtualisation, and which had a large VMware practice.

Citrix readies XenClient

Citrix's XenClient promises to shake up the way client systems are provisioned and managed, using a combination of virtualisation and synchronisation to provide secure corporate images that can be delivered and updated remotely, states V3.co.uk

However, the project is running late. Citrix released the XenClient Express trial and evaluation version during its Synergy event in San Francisco this May, while general availability of the product was originally slated for the end of 2009 when Intel and Citrix first disclosed their plans.

XenClient is now expected to ship sometime in the second half of 2010, according to Ian Pratt, vice-president of advanced virtualisation products at Citrix.

Jinan Yinquan signs agreements

Jinan Yinquan Technology, one of the wholly-owned subsidiaries of China VOIP & Telecom, has signed strategic cooperation agreements with five system integrators (SIs), says PR Canada.

This is in efforts to market its virtualisation products and solutions in Shandong.

The five SIs are: Shandong Mingfu Information Engineering, Jinan Zhangwotiandi Technology, Shandong Huitong Technology, Qingdao Century River Electric Engineering, and Qingdao Chuanghengxin Technology.
