VMware revamps software with Fusion 4

VMware has released VMware Fusion 4, which provides an easy way for users to run Windows applications with Mac simplicity, reports Mac World.

With VMware Fusion 4, Windows-only devices can be used on a Mac, plus there is added virtual Bluetooth support. A Windows VM can access Bluetooth devices running through Bluetooth on the Mac OS.

According to CBR, the new technology supports OS X Lion in a virtual machine, allowing users to get more from their Macs by running OS X Lion, OS X Lion Server, Mac OS X Snow Leopard Server and Mac OS X Leopard Server in virtual machines.

Fusion 4 allows users to transfer their entire PCs to a Mac, and provides access to Windows programs and files from their PCs directly on their Macs, whenever they need them.

Among the highlights of the solution are an ability to run graphics faster than its predecessors, and the creation of a virtual machine library and snapshot menu that enhance usability, says Code Stone.

“Offering full integration into Apple OS X Lion, VMware Fusion 4 builds on our proven, award-winning platform to provide an easy, fast and reliable way to run Windows applications on a Mac,” says Pat Lee, director of client product management at VMware.

“It is now a breeze to achieve success with Windows programs on Apple computers,” he continues.
