VMware users sample the cloud

VMware, global virtualisation solutions provider, has released its VMware virtual appliance marketplace (VAM) app on demand, enabling businesses to evaluate software in the cloud as well as receive free online training, says Business Wire.

Dan Chu, vice-president, emerging products and markets, VMware says: “The VMware virtual appliance marketplace is by far the largest library of applications and operating systems for virtual environments and clouds today”.

The VMware VAM includes new features for developers to manage and track information and customer leads about their appliances, community resources such as reviews, whitepapers, and blog postings, and listings for VMware vCloud service providers for running virtual appliances.

E-learning assists accreditation

The Society of Payment Professionals (SPSP) has released online security courses to prepare individuals for the Certified Payment-Card Industry Security Manager (CPISM) and Auditor (CPISA) exams, reports Earth Times.

"We felt the most efficient and effective way to meet the increasing demand for security training on a global basis was through e-learning," says Chris Mark, founder of the SPSP.

Since May 2008, more than 300 individuals have attended training and taken the exams with more than 240 individuals certified as CPISMs or CPISAs.

Online book store opens

The e-learning list, a marketplace for e-learning services and solutions, has added a new online book store to the Web site, states PersonnelToday.com.

The new store is based on Amazon's own technology, and any books bought are supplied by Amazon.

The e-learning list's Web site is a source of information and about e-learning, as well as where to find new supplier partners. According to the company, the online store is an extension of its services.
