Vodacom appoints director

David Brown has been appointed as an independent non-executive director at Vodacom. The operator says the appointment is effective from 3 January 2012.

“Brown will become a member of Vodacom Group's audit, risk and compliance committee and remuneration committee.”

He is currently the CEO of Impala Platinum Holdings and a board member of numerous unlisted subsidiaries of Impala.

Vodacom says he held the position of financial director and chief financial officer of Impala from 1999 to 2006, when he was made CEO.

He also served as finance director of Amdahl SA, and completed his articles with Ernst & Young.
