Cellular is now more affordable for millions of South Africans following the launch of a single prepaid recharge voucher that can be used by several people to recharge multiple cellphone accounts.
The VodacomYebo 5 R60 recharge voucher`s multiple recharge PINs mean up to five people can club together to purchase a single voucher and use it to recharge up to five different airtime accounts to the value of R12 each.
"Vodacom looked at traditional methods of commerce and developed the Yebo 5 recharge voucher which reflects how many people conduct transactions in SA," said Mthobi Tyamzashe, Group Executive - Corporate Affairs of Vodacom.
"The denominations of prepaid vouchers affect affordability in the cellular industry as much as tariffs. Vodacom is excited that millions of people will now be able to purchase airtime instead of only using their cellphones to receive calls.
"The South African cellular industry is becoming one of the most competitive in the world. The flurry of new products and services we are seeing now represents the long-awaited benefits of increased competition," concluded Tyamzashe.
Previously, the lowest-denominated Vodacom recharge voucher available was the R29 voucher. Vodacom`s Yebo 5 R60 recharge voucher is available now and can be used by Vodacom prepaid and TopUp customers.
