Vodafone Simply, which Vodacom says is an "easy to use" mobile solution for subscribers who use their cellphones for voice and text services, is available.
"Vodafone Simply is an easy to use mobile solution that includes the personalised Vodacom Customer Care experience. Customers will now be able to keep in touch with family and friends with ease and convenience," Vodacom says.
"Ease of use and accessibility of information on cellphones are key features for users, especially as feature-rich handsets and technology continues to enter the market at a dynamic pace," says Vodacom SA MD Shameel Joosub.
The new offering allows customers to dial the service centre from their Vodafone Simply handset, which will immediately identify them as a Vodafone Simply user. Additionally, the voicemail facility has been enhanced so access to voicemail messages is facilitated through the push of a single button, the company says.
The new Vodafone Simply cellphone is a large handset with three buttons that provide direct access to the most commonly used services: the main screen, contacts and messages. Additionally, a flashing button alerts the user of new message arrivals.
"The Vodafone Simply phone will also prompt users to save contact details and remember the most frequently dialled numbers on your phone," Joosub continues.
The new offering was made possible through Vodacom`s alliance with UK provider Vodafone, which owns 50% of the company. "The phone has been very well received globally and local research indicates that South African customers will welcome the straightforward easy to use handset and enhanced customer care service," Joosub adds.
