VOIP hardware usage 'set to boom'

Telappliant.

A study conducted by communications specialist In-Stat recently predicted that mobile VOIP usage among enterprises will grow to approach 83 million lines by 2015. Similarly, users of IP PBX are expected to account for the majority of this figure.

In-Stat went on to note that mobile operators are increasingly realising the potential of the field and "embracing" mobile VOIP solutions.

Mobile VOIP makes sense, saving money for the companies which need to communicate with clients in other parts of the world, writes Into Mobile.

That said, In-Stat predicts that business mobile VOIP users will increase tenfold over the next five years, with IP PBX accounting for the majority of usage. Mobile operators themselves have started embracing mobile VOIP as they realise that demand for these offerings is not subsiding.

Finally, In-Stat has found that hotspots open the potential for using VOIP over as more of a mobile rather than a residential or business service.
