Vontoo releases voice-based messaging system

Vontoo has unveiled the first permission-based, on-demand voice messaging system, reports Businesswire.com.

Accessible from any Web browser, Vontoo enables organisations of all sizes to create, send and track permission-based voice messages to people who want to hear from them, the report says.

Marketers now can add the emotion, enthusiasm and energy of the human voice to their cache of marketing tools, with messages tailored to the preferences and demographics of the subscribers, it says.

10m handwritten messaging-enabled phones shipped

Realeyes3D, says 10 million handwritten messaging enabled camera phones have been shipped over the past 12 months, reports ANP Pers Support.

Handwritten messaging applications allow camera phone users to create and exchange messages that have been written on a piece of paper, the report says.

Messages are not restricted to words such as in text messaging, but can be made of diagrams, maps, doodles, photos or images that convey emotions, moods, and feelings, creating a highly personalised message, it says.

Motorola, Apptix offer hosted e-mail

Apptix and Motorola are partnering to offer hosted mobile e-mail targeted at small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that want a single source for their mobile device, and on-demand e-mail services, says smallbusinesscomputing.com.

"Most small business owners want to be connected all the time," says Apptix marketing and business development VP Samir Gulati.

He says the partnership with Motorola will provide a channel to allow SMEs to purchase a Motorola Q mobile device with bundled messaging services.

Outbound messaging a big security threat

According to a new report by the Aberdeen Group, companies millions of dollars when they fail to address outbound messaging security breaches, reports Byggaktuelt Online.

Quoting the report, the article says 80% of companies are concerned with confidential data loss from insiders. However, only 43% have implemented outbound message security solutions.

Key findings in the research show companies need to review their messaging security plans to ensure their processes and technology addresses traditional inbound threats as well as outbound data leak risks. They should and also protect transmission of sensitive data against interception, it says.
