Vox Telepreneur offers international dialling at local cellphone rates

Johannesburg, 23 Oct 2008

South Africans can now call friends and family in over 90 countries around the world for no more than the cost of a local cellphone call, thanks to the Vox Vaya initiative from Vox Telepreneur, a division of Vox Telecom.

“If you have free minutes on your cellular plan, it means you can call overseas landline numbers for nothing,” says Vox Telecom CEO Douglas Reed.

“South Africans want lower telecommunications costs and convenience,” adds Reed. “In a world where being connected is everything, a lot of people have been kept out by high costs. But with today's technology, there's no reason the world shouldn't be open to everyone.”

There is no registration and no subscription fee to use Vox Vaya. Customers simply dial 087 805 9000 from their cellphones and follow the voice prompt to dial the international landline number they want to reach.

Calls can be made to over 90 countries, from Australia, the UK and the US through to Vietnam, Brunei, Zimbabwe and Zambia. A full list is available on the Vox Telepreneur Web site at http://www.vox.co.za.
