This comprises software, appliance and software as a service (SaaS) Web security to protect against inbound threats and prevent outbound data leaks. Websense captured 26.2% of the 2008 worldwide market revenue for Web security software and experienced 96.3% revenue growth in the SaaS Web security segment.
According to the IDC report, the growing use of Web 2.0 tools by enterprises and an increasing number of mobile and remote workers have created both a risk of data leaks and new channels for malware. To balance the business value of Web 2.0 technologies with the security risks, organisations need real-time deep content analysis and classification, as well as data loss prevention technologies.
