KeyTools today announced that it has introduced its locally developed Transphormer software together with its associated Simple Transfer Protocol (STP), a new remote transfer protocol.
Transphormer software is loaded onto a server and configured to link into the various databases that an organisation may have. An additional piece of transphormer-compliant software is also loaded onto the relevant thin client access devices, which may be a PDA, Laptop, PC or some other similar item of hardware. These thin client devices are then connected to the Transphormer server using a choice of technologies that could be via conventional modem, GSM (cellphone), ISDN, LAN, WAN, Bluetooth or the 802.11 wireless protocol.
Transphormer does not access Web content (HTML, XML, etc), but instead accesses the data directly from the relevant database/server, thus speeding up the data transfer time. Using STP, the handshake processes, data transfer and connection termination is faster than using conventional means for these processes.
All STP packets are encrypted when they are created, thus Transphormer needs a purpose-built application on the thin client that is compliant with the STP protocol. The thin client is authenticated using usernames and passwords.
