Intel CFO Andy Bryant believes that although fidelity (WiFi) networks are notorious for their security vulnerabilities, this may actually help to sell companies on the need to embrace the technology.

Intel has found that the security offered by a controlled wireless network is better than the security of networks that block wireless access, Reuters reports.

WiFi Internet connections allow computer users to search the airwaves for nearby access points, making Internet connections potentially much easier, but multiplying the risk of unauthorised access to office networks that are not fully secured.

Yahoo Instant Messenger to be used for business?

Yahoo has signed agreements with WebEx Communications and BEA Systems to put its instant messaging program into business applications, Reuters reports.

The next version of the Yahoo corporate messaging system would allow users to launch conferences using WebEx technology from within instant messaging sessions.

The separate deal with BEA will allow application developers using the BEA WebLogic Workshop platform to build Yahoo Instant Messenger functions into their programs.

Signed new Harry Potter book goes on sale

The British charity Sense is offering a signed copy of the latest Harry Potter novel, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, on online auction site eBay. The sale runs until 20 June, the day before the book`s publication, Associated Press reports.

The four previous Harry Potter novels have worldwide sales of more than 190 million.
