WiFi Direct to simplify connectivity

Linking devices will apparently become a lot easier in the near future, as the non-profit Alliance - including members like Apple, Intel, Cisco and other technology vendors started certifying products as WiFi certified WiFi Direct, reveals Top News.

The beginning of the certification of as the company marks the arrival of WiFi Direct - an emerging technology that is expected to meet the ever-growing demand for simple, portable network connectivity.

Being developed by the WiFi alliance, the technology basically makes of the traditional WiFi technology for enabling devices to connect speedily, seamlessly and securely, the company says.

IBM emphasises development on Windows

IBM is continuing its steady march to build out its cloud computing bona fides, this time with the rollout of new security offerings and an expansion of its cloud-based development tools with an emphasis on Windows, reports Tech News World.

The larger point, says Harold Moss, IBM's emerging technology and cloud computing architect, is to provide Big Blue's customer base with as many cloud-based options as possible, across as many disciplines as possible.

"There is no such thing as one-size-fits-all when it comes to cloud computing," he told the E-Commerce Times.

LTE key transformer of wireless experience

For Nokia Siemens Networks, the new technology, LTE holds the key to radical transformation of wireless experience particularly in emerging markets like Nigeria, says Vanguard.

The company was making the assertion in the recently concluded NigeriaCom in Lagos Nigeria.

The company also shared strategies on how network operators can equip their businesses to capitalise on the Nigerian telecoms market.
