Network Computing Architects, a technology and consulting firm, is standardising on Ruckus ZoneFlex Smart wireless LAN (WLAN) technology to support next-generation applications, says East Side Business.

NCA's selection of Ruckus Smart technology is based on explosive demand for faster and more reliable WiFi connectivity to support a myriad of media-rich applications from graphics-rich access to IP-based voice and video communications.

Smart WiFi is based on state-of-the-art WiFi signal routing technology that extends signal range and automatically adapts to changes in the environment that degrade performance and allows enterprises to offer better coverage and more reliable services at a lower total cost of ownership.

Samsung unveils mini notebook

Samsung Electronics has released its N120 mini notebook with 1.3 megapixel digital motion camera for video conferencing and live messaging, says Hexus.

With the 10-inch N120 come integrated 2x1.5 watt stereo speakers with a dedicated sub-woofer. It also features a larger touchpad and has a full-size 12-inch keyboard with optimised key spacing. The N120's anti-bacterial keyboard is coated with a special finish that successfully eliminates virtually all bacteria.

As well a being extremely portable, the N120 also delivers a significantly longer battery-powered performance of up to 10.5 hours with a long-life six cell battery, independent of any power supply, for maximum freedom and mobility.

RadiSys boosts VOIP quality

RadiSys, a global provider of advanced embedded solutions, has unveiled voice quality enhancement features for the RadiSys Convedia Media Server, reports FoxBusiness.

Through the integration of the enhancement features with RadiSys Convedia media servers, conferencing service providers and their VOIP application development partners can address both IP media processing and VOIP quality improvements in a single network element.

The integrated media server minimises network complexity and Capex and Opex costs, while improving audio quality for a broad range of VOIP and IMS services.
