The World Image Navigation (Win)-Initiative, and its subsidiary, Wing, stock image companies have opened their '10 Best 10' competition.

The competition is open to all photographers and aims to find “the most striking, poignant, evocative and arresting imagery, as photographed by the most daring and innovative shooters”.

Win says the contest is about recognising the next best talent from all corners of the globe.

“This contest is especially for photo artists inspired by mobile devices and all the 'out of the box' thinkers out there,” the company says.

There are no categories and images can be from any device, from D-SLRs to cellphone cameras. “Entries are accepted from all photographic mediums, from iPhones to pinholes, Polaroids to Droids, Holgas to Hasselblads,” says Win.

Founder of Win-Initiative, Hans Neleman says: “We want to spotlight and celebrate young 'creatives' that shoot highly artistic work on the fly.”

High and low resolutions are accepted and entrants need only send ten of their best images to enter. Win says this 10 Best 10 is a showcase of the very best of contemporary photography from any artist with any camera.

The fee for each entry is $25 and consists of 10 images. Photographers are allowed to submit multiple entries.

The panel of ten judges include; Mario Estrada of Hipstamatic, Susan Zadeh; Eyemazing Magazine, gallery curator Peter Hay Halpert, Aurelie Jezequel of Re-source Magazine, and Florian Meisner of Eye'em to name a few.

Neleman says: “As always, Win supports innovative and leading edge photographers but this contest is especially relevant with the emerging and fast growing mobile photography market.”

He notes that companies such as Hipstamatic have kicked open the door to a new belief in the mobile medium; all of a sudden people consider their phones a powerful tool.

“We're trying to create an opportunity for photographers to embrace this medium in a beneficial way for stock photography. So we created Wing, an exclusive place to find fine photography shot with any medium.”

The finalists will receive exposure and industry recognition plus prizes, including a New York Exhibition, A spread in Eyemazing, an iPad, a $4 500 mailing list from Agency Access, Dripbook, Livebooks accounts, reflectors from California Sunbounce, a studio day at Neo Studios in NYC, a film bundle from the Impossible Project, and a showcase plus prize package from Hipstamatic.
