
WordPress gets upgraded
Free content management system WordPress has been upgraded with a multi-site management feature; which coincides with the company's seventh birthday, reports Gemini.
The popular blogging software company cautions users that the latest WordPress 3.0 update is a release candidate and is not intended for a production environment.
Currently over 20 million people use WordPress, and last year the company won the best Open Source CMS Award.
LiveWire unveils music service
LiveWire Mobile is rolling out a mobile music service for wireless carriers and online service operators, states Hot Hardware.
The content management provider has already signed music deals with artists from EMI, Sony BMG, Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group.
Matthew Stecker, CEO of LiveWire Mobile, notes: "Through flexible pricing models and content delivery options, including over-the-air downloads, we believe our new service will allow operators, content owners and brands to extend their reach across multiple consumer devices and maximise content sales revenue."
Kentico boosts content management
Web content management system (CMS) vendor Kentico Software has added support for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 and.NET Framework 4.0, says PRWeb.
Kentico CMS for ASP.NET version 5.5 enables companies to create Web sites that are optimised for mobile devices, Facebook Connect and OpenID authentication.
Michal Neuwirth, Kentico Software product manager, explains that business Web sites need to be equipped for mobile devices: “There are more than 1.7 billion Internet users worldwide, while the number of mobile users has reached 4.6 billion and nearly every new mobile phone has an Internet connection.”
