The Microsoft Xbox 360 Elite will reach South African shores on Friday, says the company.
According to Microsoft, the Xbox 360 Elite features a media storage drive of 120GB and high-definition multimedia interface port (HDMI). It is designed for the growing number of consumers with HD TVs and HDMI.
Xbox 360 Elite will carry an estimated retail price (ERP) of R4 599.
"As well as the consoles, a range of accessories will be made available," says Marc Batten, head of the entertainment and devices business at Microsoft South Africa.
The accessories include:
* Xbox 360 120GB hard drive storage capacity upgrades, at an ERP of R1 999.
* An Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, which features the XboxGuide Button for quick, in-game access to friends and music. "It has a range of up to 30 feet and a battery life of 30 hours on two AA batteries, "says Batten. It's estimated to retail at R429.
* The Xbox 360 Play and Charge kit, which reportedly allows gamers to recharge wireless controllers without interrupting game play. It is expected to be available for R199.
* The Xbox 360 rechargeable battery at an ERP of R149.
According to Microsoft, some of the games available for the console are: Halo 3, Scene It?, Bioshock, Gotham Racing 3, Mass Effect, Naruto and Blue Dragon.
