XCG brings relief to taxpayers

Johannesburg, 10 Mar 1999

Xerox Channels Group has launched an initiative, dubbed Cost Per Image, that will see corporates throughout the country claiming tax reductions on their printing costs.

Dependent on a customer`s credit rating, the scheme works to provide clients with the freedom to use the latest printing technology as well as obtain a detailed cost-per-image understanding.

"Cost Per Image allows customers to easily calculate departmental printing expenses, adding up to enhanced budget control," says Angie Samuel, marketing manager at XCG. As Cost Per Image is considered an operating cost, making it 100 percent tax deductable. Value-added-tax, however, will be charged on a monthly basis, but is reclaimable as input tax.

Samuel says the agreement is considered an off-balance sheet item and will therefore not influence company gearing ratio`s or liquidity.

She goes on to say that prospective customers will also be able to enjoy the freedom to upgrade their equipment at any stage during the 36-month agreement period. "Their cost- per-image quote will therefore be automatically adjusted by a Xerox agent," she says.
