Xerox expands document centre range with high speed Document Centre 490

Johannesburg, 14 May 2003

The XeroxDocument Centre 490 will be on show at this year`s Computer Faire 2003. With an impressive 90 prints/copies per minute, a robust 7 150 sheet paper supply and a 500 000 monthly duty cycle the digital multi-functional DC490 offers outstanding performance and reliability and improves production levels.

The DC490 supports Xerox`s drive to provide customers with a single vendor of choice for enterprise wide solutions and document management services. Multifunctional, concurrent and multitasking, the Document Centre produces job after job with virtually no time in between. It allows users to consolidate single function assets to save on supplies and maintenance costs. "The Document Centre 490 is the fastest offering in the Document Centre range," comments Mehmet Sezer, marketing director of Xerox South Africa. "This makes the DC490 the most attractive product in the Document Centre offering."

The DC490 System`s SMart Controller uses a new Intel 433 MHz Processor, 128 MB ESS RAM and a 9.1 GB (minimum) network controller hard disk. Both the 490 Digital Copier and the 490 System include an IOT Processor with 64 MB EPC Memory and a 9.1 GB (minimum) copy pre-collation hard disk. It is easily able to manage input, output, and on board queuing concurrently to minimise the load on your network and increase effective print speed.

The Document Centre 490`s modular design not only means that users can tailor a system to meet their current requirements, but that they can upgrade their machines as their requirements change.
