Xerox HiQ uses 60% less energy than other MFPs

Johannesburg, 02 Sep 2009

Xerox's WorkCentre 7428 and 7435 colour multifunctional printer series has received an Outstanding Achievement Award from Buyers Laboratory (BLI) for its high operational energy efficiency.

The series competed with five other devices.

“The BLI test results show that the Xerox WorkCentre 7428's projected annual energy cost is more than 60% less than the average of competitive devices tested,” says Warren Lock, product manager of the Office Systems Group at Bytes Document Services, authorised Xerox distributor to 24 sub-Saharan countries.

“It's part of Xerox's continuous work to preserve the environment, reduce costs to customers and improve productivity.”

In addition, BLI concluded that the WorkCentre 7435 consumed less energy than all other competitive devices during BLI's environmental job stream test. Based on these findings, it is BLI's conclusion that, although not tested in their lab, the lower-speed WorkCentre 7425, which uses the same engine as the WorkCentre 7428/7435 Series, will be able to achieve similar results.

BLI is a global, independent document management product tester that performs regular tests and reviews on multifunctional devices, copiers, printers, faxes and wide format printers.
