Xerox office printer offers more finishing options

Johannesburg, 02 Dec 2009

Xerox has introduced a new colour printer that brings professional colour to offices of any size, with the Phaser 7500 printer designed for office environments that require on-demand, high-volume colour printing.

It prints A4-size pages at up to 35 pages per minute (ppm), will also print on A3 stock and allows companies to do in-house document printing quickly and at high quality, thus cutting costs on print jobs that might previously have been outsourced.

“The new Phaser 7500 has features such as automatic two-sided printing, booklet printing and collation, and produces professional-looking manuals, newsletters, and reports,” says Ernest Leong, product manager at the office systems group at Bytes Document Solutions, authorised Xerox distributor to 24 sub-Saharan countries. “The machine also support up to SRA3 paper and heavy media for full-bleed prints, making it ideal for posters, brochures and business cards. The Phaser 7500 is robust enough to handle short-run, professional-quality colour print jobs, and compact enough to fit into a busy office.”

The new printer builds on a heritage in colour printing that has consistently earned top marks from customers. For the second straight year, Xerox products were rated best overall when compared to competitors such as Canon, HP and Ricoh in the 2008 Industry Analysts' annual Color End-User Survey.

The printer also features a unique colour-matching technology called 'Color by Words', that uses words to define colour. The patented technology makes it easy to specify and change colours on printed documents. For example, users simply select from a menu of words and commands, such as “yellow-green colours a lot more green” or “reds colours a lot more saturated”.

Depending on the space and printing requirements of a workgroup, the Phaser 7500 is available as a low-profile desktop printer or can be configured as a floor-standing model, which has the option of additional paper trays. A high-speed 1GHz processor and Gigabit Ethernet are standard on the printer, so all users - Microsoft Windows, Apple Macintosh and Linux - can tap the machine's power.

The device is Energy Star-qualified and part of Xerox's Green World Alliance programme. The Xerox Green World Alliance is a worldwide initiative to encourage customers large and small to recycle or dispose of supplies in a manner that minimises impact on the environment.
