XON has been appointed as a certified Huawei Symantec Advanced Partner to bring the company's range of energy-saving storage products from devices aimed at SMEs to cloud computing solutions, to the local market.
As an advanced partner, XON will distribute the full range of Huawei Symantec storage equipment and offer tier one and two support and escalate only tier three support to Huawei Symantec.
“Huawei Symantec's product range is globally respected and used by many of the world's major telecoms, financial services, and government operations,” says Deon Prinsloo, divisional head hardware and software at XON. “France Telecom, for example, which has over 160 million customers globally, uses Huawei Symantec's OceanStor solution supporting streaming services and high-use media data on the Internet. China Telecom, which has over 200 million operational wire lines, over 40 million broadband and almost 30 million mobile subscribers, is another customer.”
Huawei Symantec offers a range of network attached storage (NAS), solid state, storage area networking (SAN), and virtual tape library products in a range of unified storage, disaster recovery, and backup solutions.
XON, established in 1996, is an ICT solutions company that brings retail, business, infrastructure, networking, security, consulting, hardware, and software solutions to market. Its reach extends across southern Africa and it maintains sales offices in Gauteng, the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.
Founded in 2008, Huawei Symantec is a joint venture, owned 51% by Huawei and 49% by Symantec. The company employs 4 000 people and has secured more than 1 000 customers in 40 countries. It holds over 300 patents, many of them having been adopted as industry standards.
