Yealink, the global leading unified communications (UC) terminal solution provider, announced today its selection by the hosted telecommunications firm Carolina Digital to outfit the Johnston County School system in North Carolina, USA, with 4 500 units of its cutting-edge IP phones.
The Johnston County School system in central North Carolina comprises 44 schools and a handful of administration buildings. A VOIP phone installation was direly needed as the school system included 50 different legacy Private Branch Exchange (PBX) systems that could not communicate with one another and that required significant upkeep. Carolina Digital won the bid, with a best-of-breed cloud-based PBX solution that combines Yealink phones with a robust and proven UC platform powered by Third Lane Technologies.
The selected Yealink phone models, including the SIP-T23G, SIP-T42G and SIP-T46G, provide high-definition (HD) voice technology that delivers lifelike voice quality. The phones also come equipped with large displays and user-friendly interfaces for an optimal end-user experience. Yealink's phones also feature paperless DSS keys for added functionality. The T42G comes with up to 15 DSS keys and the T46G comes with up to 27 DSS keys. The phones also support power over Ethernet (POE) and high-speed connectivity.
"The employees love the new phones, the response has been nothing but positive," said Dan Hicks, Johnston County Schools Director of Technology Services.
"Yealink is very pleased to contribute to this important project," said Yealink Vice-President Stone Lu. "Our products aim to deliver the best user experience on the market," he added. "Together with Third Lane Technologies' feature-rich, cost-effective software, we're confident that the Johnston County School system will benefit from a first-class communications solution."
