FNB says it has sold over 200 000 smart devices since launching the offers in 2011.

First National Bank (FNB) has today expanded its smart device offering to include TVs, gaming consoles and Blu-Ray DVD players.

The bank announced the move in response to what it sees as a "shift towards a connected lifestyle".

FNB had the the Xbox gaming console on offer from November last year, and will now add Sony's PlayStation 4 to its range.

Qualifying cheque account holders can order devices and pay them off over a 24-month period, "with zero additional interest, fees or charges, depending on affordability".

Kartik Mistry, head of smart devices at FNB CBS, says: "By making TVs, Blu-ray DVD players and a wider range of gaming consoles available to our customers we are enabling them to stay on trend with the latest technology and move towards a more connected living experience."

Mistry says the bank has sold over 200 000 smart devices since launching the offers in 2011.

The bank had previously increased the limit of devices per customer to four - depending on individual affordability. "The expansion of our product offer over the years, as well as customer feedback indicated that customers want to have the option of adding more than one device to their device portfolio, which we have now made available," says Mistry.
