Axiz puts HP IPG range in the spotlight

Johannesburg, 03 Jul 2008

Leading IT infrastructure distributor Axiz this week put its newly-acquired HP printer range under media and reseller scrutiny at a promotional event at its Midrand offices. The company was appointed as an authorised HP Imaging and Printing Group (IPG) distributor earlier this year.

Axiz HP Category Manager Patrick Reeves says the addition of the IPG solutions to its current HP Personal Systems, Enterprise and ProCurve networking products completes its HP offering and widens the opportunity for the company to grow its reseller base.

Although still very early days, he is satisfied with the interest the printer range has received, despite evidence of cautionary spend amongst consumers and corporates. "Axiz has met its commitment to deliver the necessary skills needed within the channel to drive the growth of HP IPG products in the local market, and continues to aggressively work with its partners to promote and market the solutions, especially within the small business/small office space," says Reeves. "We are also enthusiastic about extending the reach of our largest partner, HP, into the commercial and consumer channel."

This week's promotional function saw the media and resellers introduced to the latest models while HP merchandise experts were on hand to conduct demos and field questions. Guests were also invited to take part in an informal panel discussion on the printer market before enjoying a cocktail function with the Axiz staff.
