Q-KON South Africa, a leading importer and distributor of next-generation UC solutions, recently hosted a hands-on technical training day for companies in Gauteng based on the Synway line of VOIP and SIP products.
Two extra days were scheduled to accommodate all the delegates, which reflects the need for a new name in VOIP gateways, session border controllers, LTE gateways and IP PBX infrastructure.
Tjaart de Wet, MD of Q-KON SA, said although the Synway company has been in existence for more than 20 years, and has shipped more than 5 million units, the Synway products are new to the South African VOIP and SIP market.
The analogue gateways scale from 2FXS and 2FXO to 128FXS or 128FXO, and the digital gateways from 1E1 to 63E1.
De Wet says transcoding is a standard feature on the SBC products, and can scale up to 480 sessions. Included in the gateways and SBCs are a cloud-based management system to remote access device parameters, and these units are ideal for the non-Skype-for-Business market.
"Most units include dual power supplies, and 1U steel housings, and all units are covered by a three-year warranty; you will be hard-pressed not to switch your gateway and SBC requirement to Synway," adds De Wet.
Given the massive response to the Gauteng training, Q-KON SA is organising additional training sessions for Cape Town and KZN.
"We introduced the Quintum products to the South African market in 2002, and it is only now that we have found a product, with a similar gateway range, but at a much lower price point, and it even includes the multi-path switch capability that made Quintums so famous in our market," De Wet concludes.
