Tablets will be what most people will be looking for in their Christmas stockings this year, reckons Esquire Technologies, the digital lifestyle focused distributor.
Asgar Mahomed, MD of Esquire Technologies, said last year the most popular Xmas present was notebooks, the year before it was the now-defunct netbooks - and this year, he believes, "will be the year of the tablet".
"Father Christmas will be coming down the chimney with lots of tablet PCs this year," said Mahomed. "We are expecting to see a real spike in our sales in the run-up to December's festive season."
Esquire Technologies sells a number of brand-name tablets, as well as its own locally designed GeeKo range. More than 5 000 GeeKo tablets have been sold by the company since the launch of the range in June this year.
"Esquire is launching a whole new range, including existing models. The new range is under the umbrella of GeeKo Premium, GeeKo Junior and GeeKo Smart series; these units will be available from Esquire's 12 500 resellers in southern Africa and participating Virtual Reseller Network (VRN) e-Commerce Online stores," Mahomed concluded.
