Epson showcases eco-solvent ink

Epson will demonstrate its line up of new products at Gitex Technology Week 2008, to be held at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from 19 to 23 October, reports Arabian Business.com.

The company will showcase its new range of high-performing large format inkjet printers which incorporates Epson's new UltraChrome GS, an eight-colour eco-solvent type ink set.

The new ink set does not spread harmful volatile organic compounds and is the first major eco-solvent type ink set to be launched without the need for a hazard symbol.

EFI acquires Raster Printers

EFI, a customer-focused digital printing company, will acquire the remaining interest in Raster Printers it does not currently own for approximately $3 million in net cash proceeds plus an additional cash earn-out amount that is contingent upon achieving certain performance targets, says CEN.

The transaction, which is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2008, is expected to be immaterial to EFI's revenues and earnings for that quarter.

Raster Printers offers a line of environmentally-friendly UV wide-format printers, currently marketed under the brand name Daytona, which is targeted to mid-range customers in the display graphics market.

Vinpower upgrades products with LightScribe

Keeping up with growing market trends towards labelling copied data on optical discs, Vinpower Digital will upgrade its Titan series and Cube autoloaders to include the standalone LightScribe printing application, states PR Web.

The Titan LS duplicator line is a series of standalone robotic autoloaders ranging from three to eight LightScribe capable drives offering a disc capacity of up to 1 000 discs depending on the model.

The Titan series has long been preferred in the duplication field for its reliability, lights out operation, Multi-Master Recognition Technology (aka batch mode) capability and user-friendly interface.
