Best results in virtual machine performance, efficiency, reliability through optimised PRIMERGY support

Munich, 23 Apr 2009

Fujitsu Technology Solutions today announces optimised support for VMware's new vSphere4 server virtualisation technology on PRIMERGY rack and blade servers.

All current-generation PRIMERGY server models from Fujitsu are tuned to deliver best results in performance, efficiency and reliability for VMware's new virtualised computing platform, providing a solid foundation stone for data centre consolidation projects.

Introduced today, vSphere4 from VMware supports cloud-like server clusters within a data centre. Fujitsu confirms that the hypervisor has been pre-tested and certified for PRIMERGY customers using blade and rack servers as platforms for virtualisation, assuring PRIMERGY customers that the new software will deliver optimum results, out-of-the-box.

Says Richard Sutherland, Portfolio Manager Dynamic Infrastructures at Fujitsu Technology Solutions: “With virtualisation going mainstream as the ideal way to consolidate existing server infrastructures, customers are turning their attention to three key topics - system performance, guaranteed headroom for growth, and of course, resilience.”

“The unplanned shutdown of a single physical server can have a domino effect in a virtualised system environment. Therefore, before awarding certification to VMware's vSphere4, we wanted to confirm its full compatibility with our ServerView management suite. As a result, customers who base their virtualisation scenarios on vSphere4 on PRIMERGY servers can be assured of an optimised solution.”
