This week's National Tender Bulletin sees government's ICT activities showing a slowdown off several months of heightened activity.

The South African Weather Service bucks the trend with a total of seven adverts for ICT-related requirements. The State IT Agency also comes to the party, with five new advertisements and closing date extensions to two existing tenders. Unfortunately, the organisation also cancels three tenders.

Dube TradePort Corporation
DTPC was recently established as a provincial public entity to develop the Dube TradePort, which is a multi-modal development, phased over the next 60 years, comprising an international airport; a Cargo Terminal; Dube City; TradeZone; AgriZone; an IT platform; associated property developments in the support zone; and associated support services and activities, situated north of the Durban City Centre. As an integral part of Africa?s planned and purpose-built Aerotropolis, the Dube Trade Port (DTP), situated at La Mercy in KwaZulu-Natal, requires the services of an accredited contractor to supply and install an effective high-definition IP-based video surveillance system for the purpose of providing a secure environment for its employees, tenants and all other users of this prestigious facility. The scope will be an extension to existing Avigilon CCTV platform in use at DTPC, and therefore only certified Avigilon installers are invited to tender. Within the greater DTPC precinct, there are several independently managed facilities which exist, and while they all have the same requirements for both perimeter and access point surveillance, they do have unique surveillance requirements within their respective borders. The scope covers the following facilities: (i) Cargo Terminal, (ii) Trade House: (iii) Trade Zone and Brinks Valuable Cargo; (iv) Agri-Zone; (v) Dube City; (vi) Emergency operations centre; (vii) Vehicle monitoring in Mdloti Street (N2 and R102 access); and (viii) Upgrading of existing network video recorders at the Cargo Terminal.

Supplier database invitations

Department of Public Works
The department invites all prospective and existing suppliers to register on its new and improved supplier register that will be operated and maintained on a decentralised basis. Application forms including the categories of goods and services available for registration can be obtained from the Web site: www.publicworks.gov.za/forms.asp or may be collected from any of the department's regional offices listed below.
The following important conditions apply:
* Applications will be administered throughout regional offices. Applicants must forward their applications to the office located in the province in which they operate and reside. Suppliers in Gauteng may submit their applications to either the Pretoria or Johannesburg regional office. Suppliers in the Eastern Cape may submit their application to either the Mthatha or Port Elizabeth regional office. No duplicate applications will be considered.
* Applications from suppliers that appear on the database of blacklisted suppliers on the National Treasury Web site will not be considered.
* Applications from suppliers whose business status with CIPC is "final deregistration" will not be considered.
* Suppliers are only permitted to choose a maximum of two commodities per application for registration.
* Suppliers that have a footprint in more than one province must submit separate application forms to each regional office, should they wish to be registered there.
* Incomplete and/or unsigned application forms will not be considered.
* Original and valid documents must be submitted.
* The department reserves the right to conduct a spot auditon the premises of operation of suppliers to affirm its commitment to the eradication of unscrupulous and fraudulent suppliers from the database.
Note: Suppliers that are currently registered as service providers with the department must re-registeron this new database in accordance with the improved registration criteria.
