Software testing professionals who are asking themselves how they can take their careers to the next level in 2015 should attend FTI's professional development seminar ? Career Pathway for Software Testers.
The complimentary one-hour presentation takes place in Johannesburg on 20 January and Cape Town on 9 February.
The seminar is aimed at test professionals of all levels who need to determine how they would like to progress in their careers and will be hosted by Celia Gaylard, FTI's Software Testing Portfolio Manager.
By attending the seminar, testers will understand what skills, competencies and experiences are required in order to advance in the fast-growing, internationally-recognised profession.
According to Gaylard, testers who are equipped with the correct skillset and quality frame-of-mind can work in any software testing environment, globally. "This seminar will look at pathways that will enable testers to improve their skills and progress in their careers from entry-level tester, primarily performing test execution through to test managers responsible for leading teams and strategising and aligning test projects and test resources," says Gaylard.
The talk highlights how to take active control of one's test professional career, rather than making passive decisions about one's development. Participants will also raise their awareness of the skillset required to progress in the testing profession specific to one's test career path. Test managers will improve their ability to mentor and guide test team members and learn how to wisely spend their training budget in the coming year.
