Praesignis signed a Research Associate Memorandum of Agreement with the Da Vinci Institute for Technology Management on 28 November 2016. The Da Vinci Institute is a Higher Education Institution under the Higher Education Act 1997, and is also accredited by the Council of Higher Education (CHE). Its qualifications are recorded with the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
Students can obtain various tertiary Certificates, a BCom degree, a MSc, and a PhD qualification in the areas of Systems Thinking, People Management, Technology Management, Innovation Management, and Business Management.
Praesignis experts led by Chief Advisor Jac Spies, will be developing curricula with Da Vinci academics in the fields of Innovation and Data Science, from certificate level up to a master's degree level. Training will be facilitated by seasoned Praesignis experts in these fields at Da Vinci's venues in Modderfontein, Johannesburg. Praesignis will be publishing registration information. Spies is a seasoned facilitator and trainer, an experienced mentor and coach on innovation, a professional management consultant, and a seasoned corporate executive in the private and public sectors. He currently heads up the corporate Advisory Services Division of Praesignis, and is also developing an innovation capability within the company, and assisting in establishing new business ventures. Academically qualified in Science and in Business Leadership, Spies's tertiary travels covered the Sciences (UP), the Philosophies (Potchefstroom), and Business Leadership (Unisa). Being an addicted learner, he received scores of special certificates from the USA, and local Institutes. Today, at 77, he is studying Machine Learning under the leadership of an e-mentor in Australia. Since 2005 Spies has developed himself as a leader in Inventive Thinking philosophies, methodologies, and tools. Not considering any retirement ideas Spies accredited his inventive thinking training workshops at SAIMechE (The South African Institute for Mechanical Engineering), and joined Praesignis to continue enhancing his skills and to pass on his knowledge and experience to the younger generations of professionals that need to develop inventive thinking skills.
Following on our investment in 2016 in a Praesignis IT Laboratory at the University of Pretoria, the Da Vinci agreement is a further step by Praesignis to enhance academic research programmes with hands-on business experience.
