Black empowerment Technological solutions group, Panama Technologies Ltd, has announced its acquisition of Wynleigh International (Pty) Ltd, leader in the quality management field. PanTech`s three main areas of operation are information technology, telecommunications and business technology. Wynleigh International will form part of the business technology division, BizTech, which covers engineering, logistics and business solutions.
"This acquisition enables us to offer a more comprehensive range of business solutions, and makes PanTech the only organisation of its type in South Africa. It also makes BizTech a recognised role player in the Quality Assurance marketplace in this country," says Panama Technologies Ltd executive director, Tom Maier.
"Through implementing quality management systems, Wynleigh International assists organisations to achieve ISO 9000, QS 9000, ISO 14000 - or the relevant standards certificates - while improving their performance," says Tony Cunningham, founder and managing director of Wynleigh International.
"Our three types of service: consulting, training and software, are offered as separate services or a total suite of products. The consulting develops the skills and culture within an organisation for continuous business improvement, while the training relates to the formal systems being introduced within that organisation."
Wynleigh`s software service includes the supply, installation and customisation of Achiever Plus, a leading-edge Quality Assurance Management software solution which allows total integration with the client`s existing systems. Winner of two international Best Business Application awards, this product is a complete self-help solution, designed to enable companies of all types and sizes to implement and maintain an Integrated Management System.
"Two Wynleigh products currently unavailable from any of our competitors are a Small Business Scheme and an Auditor Experience Module," adds Cunningham.
PanTech acquired Wynleigh International effective 1 July 1998, for a total consideration of R2 million, to be settled by a combination of cash and shares. Wynleigh`s management has provided a profit warranty of R720 000 profit before tax on a R5 million turnover by June 1999. "In exploiting the business synergies with other BizTech operational areas, we expect this business to grow significantly over the next year, making a strong contribution to PanTech`s June 2000 financial year," concludes Maier.
