ICT Tenders: SITA gets going

The latest edition of the National Tender Bulletin sees government procurement recovering from the distractions of the political process and returning to the business of buying. The spurt in tender notices is led by the State Information Technology Agency (SITA). With its job as Government's technology supplier, it's good to see the agency stepping on to the stage once again.

The issue is led by software requests followed closely by services, with advertisements in the double digits for both. Hardware opportunities, on the other hand, are limited to three. Internet-related interest remains high while telecommunications sees some attention returning.

Moving to the close of the bulletin, government procurement officers are getting back into the work of awarding tenders again. Fortunately the issue announces only one cancellation.

BankSETA provides this week's notice of interest, revealing there is money to be made in the hazy area of internships. The authority's announcement awards a cyber security internship to Gijima at a cost of R32 million.
