Finnish firm outsources ICT

The agreement covers Tapiola Group's mainframe capacity and related storage and backing up capacities, management and monitoring of the environment as well as application monitoring of systems.

Jussi Gronholm, vice-president of financial services for Tieto Finland, says: "Our strong expertise in the industry and extensive experience in outsourcing create a good foundation for mutual success and for supporting Tapiola Group's business growth and efficiency of operations.”

Tech giants build smart grids

Posco, ICT and IBM are to develop a renewable energy management system to supply electricity produced by renewable energy to factories, buildings and homes, says Korea IT Times.

The renewable energy management system is necessary system of smart grid operating facilities that produce electricity with renewable energy such as wind and photovoltaic power.

The three companies will establish an energy-operating plan by establishing a real-time monitoring system of the renewable energy.
