Veritas Software, provider of enterprise-class application storage management software, has announced the availability of Veritas Backup Exec for Windows NT, Small Business Server Edition version 7.3. With industry-signified features, Backup Exec for Windows NT, Small Business Server Edition is a complete data protection solution that supports the newly released Microsoft BackOffice Small Business Server 4.5.
Providing unattended on-line database backup of Microsoft SQL Server 7.0, complete Microsoft Exchange Server protection, including individual mailbox backup and restore, and backup of the Microsoft Internet Information Server, Veritas Small Business Server Edition affords ease-of- use with an intuitive user interface and wizards. In addition, Backup Exec for Windows NT, Small Business Server Edition version 7.3 protects Windows 95/98 and NT Workstations, while offering users the flexibility to add other Backup Exec for Windows NT options, such as Autoloader and the Open File Option.

The included Intelligent Disaster Recovery Option assists the user in preparing for data-threatening events. Intelligent Disaster Recovery then retrieves the user`s system and restores its critical data quickly and reliably, up to the point of the last backup, without reinstalling the operating system after hardware failure. Prior to a backup, integrated virus scanning automatically or on-demand detects and repairs viruses on the server. Statistical reporting of all data protection tasks is provided via a run-time version of Seagate Crystal Reports.
