An Enterprise Suite (ES) version of the international accounting and financial software program Macola, has been launched in South Africa by Pretoria-based ERP and business intelligence software specialist ADM Systems, the local distributor and support services provider.
An Exact Software product, the Macola ES software is now being made available to ADM's South African clients as an upgrade to the existing Macola Progression product.
"We are also strongly marketing the ES version of Macola to new prospects as a mid-tier fully integrated ERP solution that offers financial accounting, distribution and full manufacturing functionality which has built-in business analytics and applications for supply chain integration," said ADM Systems managing director Anton Carstens.
"By combining Macola ES with our own fully web-based front-office solution, e-Synergy, businesses can achieve a totally integrated, end-to-end single-source business solution that will cater for their needs well into the future."
The e-Synergy solution enables businesses to manage customer relationships, workflow, human resources, projects, documents and web portals.
Carstens added that Exact has implemented innovative technologies in Macola ES to provide exceptional functionality, speed and user-friendliness, which are critical to successful business. "The program offers extensive reporting functionality in Xcel or Crystal and reports by cost centre or cost unit on cash flow. Also, full financials for past reporting periods can be run immediately without having to copy the database to a different location."
The accounting package provides seamless integration and comprehensive drill downs, providing complete, yet easy access to all financial information for a total back office solution.
The Macola ES chart of accounts is more intuitive, allowing users to indicate where any account should be placed, eliminating the need to create financials through the statement layout file. The general ledger has enhanced analytical capabilities at resource, project, customer and vendor level and offers company-wide multi-currency capability.
Carstens said the Macola ES package provides improved security and offers more dynamic views while using one central table for all employee resources - a feature that eliminates duplication. Forms, reminders, labels, invoices and statements can be designed as "what you see is what you get". There is password protection for pre-defined scenarios and users may view the program in three different formats according to their needs or preferences.
The distribution package in Macola ES is designed to meet the diverse needs of expanding businesses by providing superior inventory control, accurate customer order processing, efficient procurement functions, strong bill of materials processing and automatic data collection
On the manufacturing side there is a comprehensive package of applications designed for make-to-stock, make-to-order, assemble-to-order, and mixed mode manufacturing environments with closed loop planning and execution systems for quick turnaround and work in process intensive manufacturers.
A Payroll module offers the flexibility to track and process the entire payroll as well as maintain an integrated, expandable employee database that stores a wealth of employee skill and performance information for the HR department.
"So there are many benefits for Macola users to upgrade to the ES version," said Carstens, "particularly for companies that are growing or expanding their fields of business."
