Thai bank chooses Alcatel-Lucent

Alcatel-Lucent has been chosen by Siam Commercial Bank, a banking and finance institution in Thailand, states TMCNet.

Under the agreement, Alcatel-Lucent will design, integrate and implement next-generation call centre solutions to accommodate the rapidly-growing, multi-site agent teams at the bank.

Senior executive vice-president and chief information officer of Siam Commercial Bank, Charamporn Jotikasthira, noted that its contact centre enhancement is in line with the bank's strategy of developing an infrastructure that provides an easy contact centre experience for their customers.

Mobile to mobile payments coming

Mobile phones could soon be used to make payments from one person to the other with only the need for a phone number, reports Mobile Today.

The system could be made possible and secure because SIM cards have a similar encryption on them as the chip on a debit card.

Mobile banking solutions group Monetise's chief strategy officer, Richard Johnson said: “A national payments system potentially with just a mobile phone number is certainly within our sights”.

QNB Card Centre opens

Qatar National Bank (QNB) has opened QNB Card Centre, a one-stop solution dedicated to providing personalised and efficient services to the Bank's credit card and debit card customers, as well as to merchant partners, says AME Info.

The card centre will provide centralised card services on behalf of both QNB and QNB Al Islami.

The QNB Card Centre, located at the bank's C-Ring Road branch, is open to all QNB card holders.
